UVS can supply the Preformed Marine range of Dyna-Grip and Evergrip terminations for steel armour cables and the Cable-Grip for kevlar cables. These terminations are field installable and do not require special tools or expertise to install. Preformed Marine also manufacture a range of cable terminations for applications involving tow cables, joining steel armoured cables together, cable grips for suspending cables and steel wire rope, bend limiters for cable protection, special cable splicing kits, mechanical swivels and ball joint tow point adapters. For cable sheaves and cable counters UVS can supply the General Oceanics range of instrumented and non-instrumented sheaves (blocks) used extensively in oceanographic applications. Standard sizes are available to suit cables from 6mm to 25mm diameter, with sheaves available for larger cables on special order. Where corrosion is a problem for steel armoured cables, piping, valves and any steel based equipment, UVS can supply the solutions provided by ROV Supply Co. ROV Supply Co. solves the manual lubricating problem of steel wire cables with the Masto Lubricator which penetrates under high pressure a heavy duty lubricant to protect both the inner and outer layer of steel wires. When correctly lubricated, a steel wire cable will last for many years longer and is an economical solution to extended cable life.
