Focal Technologies designs and manufactures a broad range of rotary coupling products used in demanding environments, namely electrical slip rings (ESR), fiber optic rotary joints (FORJ), fluid rotary unions (FRU) and FPSO Swivels. Typical applications include cable winches, cranes, diving spreads, single point moorings, Floating Production, Storage & Offloading facilities, robotics and geophysical streamers to maintain connectivity while one element of the system is rotating with respect to the other. The units are available as a hybrid package that combine fiber, electrical and fluid rotary joints. Also available are explosion proof units for hazardous locations and oil filled units for underwater applications for the offshore oil and gas and ROV industries. The ESR can be supplied with rings capable of handling small signals to 10 kV and 500A and a customer specified number of signal or power rings or a combination of both. The FORJ can be supplied with passes to accept single mode or multimode fibers or a combination of both. The FRU can be supplied with up to 12 ports to accept fluids or air.
