The QTC5 provides accurate, repeatable classification in water as shallow as 0.5m below the transducer. A unique turnkey system that needs only GPS input, a boat and power to provide the user with a new way of looking at the bottom in shallow waters - the bottoms of lakes, rivers and estuaries can now be accurately classified. Captures data at speeds of up to 5MHz, with a dynamic range to handle the high amplitudes of shallow water echoes. The raw echogram is logged to maximise post-processing capabilities.

For classification of sidescan sonar data QTC offer the QTC SIDEVIEW™. SIDEVIEW is based on the many years of experience embodied in the company's proven seabed classification products, QTC VIEW™ and QTC IMPACT™. Sophisticated image texture analysis techniques, combined with a full understanding of the physics of sound and sediment, provide accurate and repeatable quantification of the sidescan record.

  • Automated classification of sidescan sonar data saves time and improves objectivity.

  • Multiple algorithms used to provide accurate discrimination between sediment types and seabed features.

  • Generates many statistical features from the backscatter of each patch of seafloor

  • Adds value to traditional interpretation methods by repeatable, objective, and accurate pattern recognition

  • Capable of both supervised and unsupervised seabed classification

  • Simple ASCII data output for GIS and mapping

For classification of multibeam sonar data, QTC offer the QTC MULTIVIEW™.  MULTIVIEW classifies sediment types and defines acoustic diversity for sea floor mapping.

  • Uses published algorithms to provide discrimination between sediment types.

  • Sophisticated data filtering and echo quality control ensure accurate results.

Includes easy to use clustering tools to give practical results well-suited to user needs Basic classification operation parallels QTC IMPACT™ for single- beam echo sounders QTC MULTIVIEW™ provides automated classification of multibeam sonar data. Process multibeam backscatter data to create maps of sea floor substrate.

QTC MULTIVIEW™ generates statistical features for patches of sea floor from recorded backscatter and depth data. The suite of algorithms generates classification features from these data. Multivariate statistical processing isolates the best features to capture the data sets diversity. A 3-D clustering routine generates discrete clusters, which can be associated with specific features of the seabed.
