In many subsea applications there is a need to transfer data from subsea sensors and instruments to a surface location. In many cases it is not practical to send this data through an umbilical so an acoustic solution is required.

The LinkQuest underwater acoustic modems utilise the latest Broadband Spread Spectrum signal processing technology to provide fast reliable error free data transmission in the harsh underwater environment. Models are available from 300m range with low power consumption using directional transducers and high transmission rates to 19200 baud to 4000m range with omni-directional transducers and transmission rates up to 9600 baud. Typical applications include real time monitoring of underwater sensors, periodical data collection from moored underwater instruments, AUV/UUV data upload, command & control and as an underwater telephone.  Various models are available.
