UNDERWATER VIDEO SYSTEMS & ACCESSORIES

UVS can specify, design, supply and commission a camera system for every underwater application from shallow water self contained systems, diver held systems, ROV mounted, Drill support/wellhead TV systems to fixed installations or mounted on deep water sampling instruments. We can tailor a system to precisely suit your requirement in respect to size, weight, portability, lighting requirements and affordability. UVS represent Kongsberg Simrad, recognised as the leader in underwater camera systems. Each colour, monochrome and intensified camera offers maximum performance and flexibility. Each camera is available with a choice of options specific to the unique requirements of underwater inspection and observation tasks. All cameras are supported by a range of cable assemblies, pan & tilt units and lights.

UVS can also supply a full range of Deep Sea Power & Lights underwater lights for every application, with AC or DC supply and with power outputs up to 1000 watts. All of DSP&L’s standard products are vigorously designed to perform in the harsh marine environment, from wet/dry surface applications to full ocean depth. DSP&L products have been used by the Titanic Expedition, National Geographic Society, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the world’s deepest manned submersibles and ROV’s. DSP&L also manufacture a range of compensated Deep Sea batteries for powering subsea instruments and camera systems where a power cable is impractical to use.

For applications where scaling, rangefinding or positioning is required, DSP&L manufacture a range of underwater lasers for use by divers or ROV’s. Mounted in parallel, two SeaLasers add scale to video or photographic images in the form of two brilliant red dots separated by a known distance. Two SeaLasers mounted to produce intersecting beams can be used to determine an objects distance or to maintain constant positioning.

UVS can also supply electric or hydraulic pan & tilts for ROV mounting or fixed site installations with various brackets to allow the mounting of a combination of cameras and lights or other sensors.

For a complete recording of an underwater inspection, Oceantools manufacture a sophisticated Video Overlay Unit. This unit can simultaneously overlay text, graphics and data from external devices such as Survey Data, CP, Gyro compass and GPS. The video overlay can also accept up to five composite video channels and an optional YC video format, RS 232 and analogue channels.

Where there is a requirement to transmit a video signal up to 20 km to a remote location such as from a vessel to an oil platform or in harsh environments, the CDL MiniVision is the most flexible system currently on the market. The MiniVision has a built in LCD Monitor to avoid the need for an external monitor, is PAL/NTSC compatible, and operates on AC or DC. Options include an audio channel, multi-channel capability and high power versions.
